As I said in an earlier post, modern philosophy basically assumes that there is a form to consciousness that is imposed on the "matter" given by external objects, the question being how "interpretive" is it? Most people agree, as well, that there is a commonality that can be counted on, and that therefore there is a degree of objectivity involved in most interpretations, permitting "inter- subjectivity", rather than condemning us to purely private worlds. This does, indeed, pose the possibility that some problems in, say, physics are "epistemological", which could be considered pretty inclusively....
