~~~AMD Athlon Review #14~~~
zdnet.com
This is a comparison of the IBM and Compaq 600MHz Athlon system versus two 600MHZ PIII systems.
The article says that both the IBM and Compaq won't be sold on the shelf, they have to be specially ordered.
I guess IBM and Compaq want to test the waters before they commit to building a bunch of 600Mhz Athlon systems.
One question - Why was there no mention of the 500 and 550MHz Athlon? While that is kind of good because more 600s will be sold, but how will AMD get a name in the marked if only one bin Athlon is sold?
Pravin - RE: "In Q2 of next year..."
Next year looks great, but the Athlon has to make it that far first!
Looking at what AMD's future potential can be is interesting, but since they have had so many problems this year, I am stuck about thinking what this Q and the next one will be like.
