Hey folks, been lurking. Notice no one mentioned that Faber on CNBC discussed todays rumor. He said that according to his sources T and AOL have met but no agreements reached. Said according to his sources one topic has been AOL access fees to T's cable. Said T wanted $10 and AOL $3. Also mentioned that TJ and I believe T's cable tsar - forgot his name have an active dislike of each other. Not sure on this last statement if I have the right guy at T. Anyway, for what it's worth. Do they get to provide the link between MSO and backbone exclusively till 2002?
Yup, as I understand it. For "broadband" internet that is (above a certain speed).

However there are lots of loopholes in most of the MSO agreements. Not sure if T has any loopholes.

Was'nt EXCITE profitable before ATHM came along?
Only barely, and only with some accounting games. Declining growth too. Not anything AOL would be interested in.
