Hello Victor!

You mean something along the lines of this:

Artificial Life, Inc. is developing a family of intelligent natural language bots based on our core SmartEngine? technology. Artificial Life offers a range of products that, when used in combination, represent the industry's first commercial bot-based electronic commerce solution system

Meet Artificial Life's suite of smart bots, advanced software products based on ALife's SmartEngine? technology. Integrating computer interaction and natural language understanding, Alife smart bots act as useful assistants to automate common Internet tasks. Not only can our smart bots help users navigate Web sites, they also can manage financial portfolios, search for information, create and report on user pofiles, monitor data, manage knowledge, and automate e-mail messaging, call centers, and sales responses.

artificial-life.com

I think this company could do alot for digitalme and what you envision. They have a download of something called Personal WebGuide. It's rather interesting, you ask natural language questions and it searches.

This one is something I'd like to use at work:

The ALife-SalesRep is being developed for e-commerce retailers to use for direct marketing on the Internet. Retailers will specify user profile and product information in this smart bot's knowledge base, which will be used by the SmartEngine to intelligently deliver customer-specific, targeted sales information via the Internet. This product will have a very advanced bot-based intelligent user interface.

DigitalMe and IP Telecom.....

>>In fact I guess I would like to see more of the plans that DIGITALME has to help me to integrate and manage my (e-communication) needs like: phone/internetphone/email/answering service/fax.>>

Victor:

I've been spending a lot of time over with another company up the road from Novell - I-Link, located in Draper, UT.

I picked I-Link for they have the most complete Unified Messaging (UM)- voice, fax, paging, cellular, e-mail, video (later)- expanded services feature set available NOW.

They are opening up their API so developers will be able to create their own specialized UM controls. We plan to use DigitalMe and its single directory logon to automate the process of changing our UM controls, inputs, etc.

>>I think the technology is already there so that Digitalme will allow me to go through the New Delhi Hilton routine effortlessly. I think that is going to be big improvement on e-mail. The way I see it if you write an e-mail to me I should be able to decide if I want to *read it*, *hear it*, and how soon and if your *call* could go through directly to me independently of my current *location*. same applies to all other means of communication.>>

I-Link's UM platform allows me to configure my calling needs from the Internet, but their controls are blocky and too linear. DigitalMe should provide some really cool functionality to make these platforms more customizable and user friendly.

>>The other aspect that I was pleased to see was something we also discussed: *robots*, i.e. machines designed with intelligence to perform specific searches and data retrieval that are basic for human life..and commerce..>>

Stay tuned. "Smart" searches using XML will be part of this next wave. We are extremely excited about the unbundling power of XML/ICE. XML will give the end user a much more powerful set of tools to search, sort, target, locate, factor and weigh literally anything/anytime/anywhere on the net.

It's going to be a great ride.

We are looking forward to advancing the mindshare in these areas.

Beam me up Scotty!!

GO!!
