Fair comment. Certainly many users of alcohol use it non-abusively. No question there. But for me, a product which, even though it has legitimate uses and careful users, results in as much misery as this product does is not a product I want to support with my dollars. (Remember, there were only limited number of Pinto crashes and many, many thousands of Pintos that ran without any problems for many years, and many drivers who drove it quite safely, but still the product on balance was a bad product. Not an exact parallel, but I think fair.) If one interprets the provision of the means to a choice as "causing" the grim results of the abuse of that choice, government interference becomes inevitable. I don't agree.
