Perceptronics Announces FY 2000 First Quarter
Results

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Perceptronics, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PCTR - news) today
announced that the Company reported a loss for its first quarter ended June 30, 1999 of $163,823, or $0.03 per share, on
revenues of $382,410. In its first quarter of the previous year, the Company had a profit of $3,222, or $0.00 per share, on
revenues of $832,952.

Dr. Gershon Weltman, chairman and chief executive officer said, ''The significantly reduced first quarter revenues in fiscal
2000 resulted mainly from lack of contract activity in the defense simulation sector. The primary factor was delays in the
availability of several major PGTS contract opportunities that we feel we have an excellent chance of winning. We believe
these opportunities are still viable, and accordingly we have initiated cost savings measures in this area to help see us
through the dry spell.''

''In addition, we are increasingly enthusiastic about the market potential of the IC3D(TM) Framework products and
services. The movement of the Internet toward 3D visualization and multi-user, online interaction is occurring even faster
than we had anticipated a year ago. In our discussions with potential customers -- site developers as well as site owners --
we have found a strong acceptance of the type of benefits the proprietary IC3D Framework brings. These come from the
ability of IC3D to create fully collaborative 3D applications quickly using a variety of open standards, and a variety of
specialized 3D engines as well.''

''The IC3D advantages have helped us create important strategic and technical alliances with such preeminent companies as
Brilliant Media and Tremor Entertainment, a fast growing leader in the multi-person game industry. We are working
diligently to bring the first IC3D applications to the Internet as pacesetters for the burgeoning collaborative 3D market.''

''Obtaining bridge and/or next phase financing to take advantage of the opportunities offered by IC3D is a top priority of
management. While neither financing can be assured, we believe two key factors have made the IC3D venture more viable
and more fundable. The first is the recent strategic and technical alliances we have made, including an important alliance in
the entertainment area with Tremor Entertainment, a preeminent and rapidly growing gaming company. The second is the
close contacts we have established with potential IC3D customers in each of our identified market segments.''

Last night, on Seattle news, I saw a brief piece about a company that has developed an interactive exercise unit. It looks like a high tech chair suspended by a frame. One sits in the chair and pedals and steers while looking at a "virtual" monitor. As I understood it, the exerciser could compete with other exercisers in different locations/cities. I'll try to find out more about it.
