Bulldozer, an absolutely impossible paragraph to dope out from Soundview. I wasn't aware that GLW was an amplifier vendor to LU or anyone else. I thought it was pure fiber play. In any event, it appears that Soundview is saying that LU has shifted more (?) of its outsourcing to JDSU? Would be good news, but LU has been in the process of doing this for months. Maybe that's what the analyst is getting at, in addition to GLW problems. Regards. Steven

Bulldozer, thanks muchly for getting to the rumor that tanked GLW yesterday. Hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but if you get any sniff of a follow-up, please post. I've owned GLW for a couple of eons and agree with Steven: if they make amplifiers it would be news to me. The Corning boys are fiber by the kilometer kinda folks who obviously have to work with the LUs, CIENs, and JDSUs in order to cook the glass just so. . .but I can't make sense of the Soundview newsbyte as quoted. The market's a wonderful thing--just when you think you've got a pure bandwidth infrastructure play w/o the nosebleed PE, up jumps the devil. Thanks again, Mike Doyle
