That was my interpretation of his (pointless) question.

Put who on notice and for what, asking a question, and to whom (SI??)? Don't be silly. It is a simple matter of clarification and credibility. I wouldn't listen to a doctor who didn't attend med school. Nor would I call anyone a "lawyer" who didn't pass law school. The term analyst in the world of equities traditionally means someone who has/was been employed in that capacity by an institution such as a fund (buyside) or an i-bank (sell-side). These people are typically well-schooled in financial analysis as well as their particular industries. I think that I (and perhaps Anthony, but I don't mean to speak for him) was asking are what are Mr. Harmon's credentials aside from his track record. Is he an analyst, or an Analyst? That is indeed a simple question, no?

Before everyone pounces on me, you understand that I am not trying to discredit steve here. I think he does a great job with tech analysis. But tech analysis and financial analysis are two entirely different things (this is the root of my question). It is one thing to say that this or that company should benefit from its internet strategy and the evolution of technology markets, it is quite another to say that a stock is over/undervalued based on that analysis. All I am wondering is if steve also does financial analysis to back his recommendations and if so, does he have the necessary skills to do so?

Mark,

If you did not know, Anthony claims to be an expert in all fields of investing and he thinks he knows all the rules, but if you read enough of his post you will soon find out he's not much.
