At around 1PM EST we have a US Quote for Softbank (Over the counter pink sheet listing) at $246 Bid and $256 Asked. Usually you can buy somewhere in the middle of that range.
Those numbers are from Schwab Global at 1-800-992-4685. I'm just reposting this for people who might like a US quote.

Probably many Americans and Europeans may not be aware of the pathetic interest that individual Japanese can earn in Japan on their savings. Earlier this year there was even a reported negative rate of interest on some forms of bank savings. These rediculous interest rates that Japanese can earn on savings and the large personal savings rate could lead to a large boost for the stocks that are traded in Japan if individual investors follow the trend of US Investors. Softbank's timing for the New Nasdaq Japan may work out well over the next year or two.

You know we always hear about the Japanese cash figures. What I wonder is whether the amount held in cash reflects a different cultural attitude towards investment or whether it reflects money pulled out of the market during the Japanese market bear. Ie can we expect this money to come into the market quick if the market picks up or slower than molasses in January while the culture slowly evolves? Do you know? Thanks.
