Hi Cash; Actually, 30% of the accounts had made money, if I remember correctly. It's just that their financial analysis concluded that this money was made so dangerously, that the participants were unlikely to continue making money.

The report noted that the average commission in daytrading firms is $15, and that Altech, where they obtained the 30 accounts, has a commission of $25. This would indicate to me that they chose an office where costs for the traders is higher than average.

The report does talk about separating the daytrading from the overnight holds, but since traders tend to have a nasty habit of taking losers home, this analysis is not really possible.
