<OT> Regarding interpretation:

In college I put a sign on my door that I considered inoffensive. "Why are you here?" I put it on my door to put something on my door.

It was amazing the number of interpretations people put on that simple question. Some took it in an existential sense. Others took it as if I said "leave me alone."

OT Hi Morgan, What do you think of today's rally?
My opinion is that it won't last. As i just heard on CNBC, it might just be some short covering.
I am expecting the mutual funds to start raising cash to guard against redemptions or transfers into money market funds as that could be what they anticipate in the next 2 months leading into October.
It would surprise me if the current rally holds even to the close of the markets today---but i am no psychic.
I decided to short AOL/AMZN/INTC this morning. In hindsight, intel short was a bad short term move as it is a monopoly without the government on its case. Still to bond mutual funds as my major long term holdings now----more defensive than holding stocks.

BTW--what do think of shorting Dell and Hewlett going into their earnings next week. I am thinking of shorting both.

Sir Francis, Have you completely abandoned SI? I see that your last post was in August, why's that? I thought your contributions to this thread were some of the best posts. I, for one, would be interested in your take on MSFT at this point and in the market in general.
