Thanks for pointing this out. As you know PNU is about to complete its buy-out of Sugen. Here is the link to the SEC document on the PNU-SUGN merger:

Look for the section entitled "BACKGROUND OF THE MERGER" . You get a glimpse of how the relationship evolved from collaboration to equity investment to 'Genentech-Roche'-like to all-out acquisition. Very interesting.
