Hello James: Stumbled across this forum and read some of the post from the beginning.
You may be interrested in the following service and free CD offer.
The program is called chartsmart. It has data from all North American Exchanges.
Below is a copy and paste from their web site. I have been a Chartsmart subscriber for over 3 years.
It is a database analysis program. I had previously subscribed to Telescan and later gave I-soft a try and
quit both unhappy. I originally wanted a service that would give me end of day data and
run filters etc with some charting capability. I found CS very fast and I liked the idea of
having info for all of the exchanges in a data base(over 15000 securities). It also has
news releases represented by a small bar on the chart timeline. Every chart has a memo
field which you can copy and paste into. This is handy for tucking away interresting
tidbits from sites such as SI.
You can create numerous "watch list's" of stocks for easy perusal. There are allmost
limitless filters you can create. An example would be all stocks trading on the
NASDAQ and TSE between $2.00 and $10.00 with a volume over 20,000 within
50% of the year low that have gone up 5% in the last 2 days. You can run up to 3
moving averages and view several
years of data on a chart. The type of person using this powerful program would be a
someone wishing to do their own analysis and spot trends early. System players would
find it very useful also. The program will allow you to export data into other formats for
perusal by spreadsheet, metastock, supercharts etc.The program is not a replacement for
your existing technical analysis software but a companion.
I believe the program being offered for a free test is the new "Windows 98 beta version
and still under development."
