Aaaaargh Joe, thats awful...hope for some reason that botched trade turns out for the best, and knowing you I'm sure it somehow will. I've never tried an Online Broker because I like mine at Merrill Lynch who I set up with before I got online. They've got an All-In-One Account now where you can trade online or with the broker for a flat fee and if there's a screwup with the online you'll get personal assistance...haven't gone for it yet but probably will pretty soon. I like the others I've dealt with there when my broker's away too, and I like their accounts online and way they present their statements and my accountant likes their tax reporting, etc... so I can recommend them as a Straight-Arrow Company even though you'd be dealing with a different branch office. They never call bugging me to buy anything either. If you feel like giving someone else a try, why not go to Branch Manager and ask to meet Their Best Broker before you set up the account, you know, see if you're impressed and like the person. Seen many complaints about stuff like you just experienced, so have shied away from trading online. I pay horrible high commissions compared to the low one ETRade and others offer....but on the other hand there's no screwups on trades and she really does work to try getting me the best price both ways and lets me know if a trend is changing so we'll wait and chat a few minutes sometimes to get a better price. The commissions are added to the basis anyway for Uncle; and getting a better price along with good service makes the cost work out pretty much the same as it would online it seems. I heard AG Edwards is a real good one too.
Hope Etrade makes good on it for you, probably they will.

Joanie
