<teach him how to spend money>

He's okay. I have two others that really need the lesson.

He really knows how to spend, he just refuses to spend if it isn't necessary. His brothers will take a cab, he will walk. His brothers will spend money on T-Shirts, he will buy North Face Fleece and only because he plans to visit Northern Ontario. His brothers will buy Nintendo, he will scour the Internet for a High Speed AMD Chip based knock off computer that costs 20% of a Gateway that has half the capability.

He is something like me, when I was his age I had no money and now I toss it at everything. Him, he has money and he is judicious with spending it. So at 16, neither one of us spent money on anything.

I cannot teach him anything. My only saving grace is that I understand that. He's the smart, self assured, connected kid with a few bucks in his pocket that I wish I was at his age. You wouldn't believe the people he knows, Roger Penske's nephew, for example. I don't even know the guy who owns the deli around the corner.

Anyway, my early impression is that the market has a Northern bias....at least I "sense" that at this point. I have several hours of work to do before I can feel comfortable with that, however.
