I should not go quite far as the previous respondent, but yes, I do agree--particularly and irately when the monies are used where I do not want them used.

That's the point. I am paying far more than I should have because I am also subsidizing health care for the indigent, who often get the best care. The system needed fixing. I am more than willing to pay my fair share. $2100 for 3 hours of care is not fair.

A properly run system with pooled money could work like car insurance, with nobody having a catastrophic loss, and everybody being covered.
