Have you ever been to NASA, their current level of technology is not nearly as good as that that McDonnal Douglas uses for design issues on the Space shuttle or space station.

The uS government is still the largest consumer of vacumm tubes. much of this is due to inertia and the purchasing process that makes it difficult to jettison prior investments.
