>continuous improvement is now a normal part of most business's way of life, has been a positive transformation<

I disagree. While good for the consumer, it's bad for the employee, as they are forced to work their butts off. That's because companies are giving out pink slips, and the companies are expecting the staff to do the work of the layed off.

Nothing wrong with improvement, but sometimes, certain situations would be best to leave it alone.

Keep going back to the Coke story.

Also look at Apple, they dumped the Newton, what a stupid decision. Although back then PDA's were ahead of their time, the time for PDA's is NOW. I heard rumours on the NET that Apple is making a new PDA.

Continous improvement is exactly what SI should be doing.

It is not what they are doing. SI is doing a one time complete overhaul.

They should have been gradually adding features and enhancements all along, working from where we are to today step by step getting feedback each step along the way.

That is what continuous improvement is all about.

P.S. This inability to post when you want to is infuriating. Anyone know steps to take to get a post through? I just try waiting a while and posting again hoping things have changed...
