Jan, I don't think a well-managed monster like Janus builds and keeps a huge illiquid position in any money-losing company without the best-possible understanding of the fundamental and technical risks.

Who would you rather play with, Janus or KIS?

By regulating I mean that Janus should at a minimal, understands the supply/demand issue well.

Jan,

I wish I had learned the supply and demand issue much earlier last year. It is clear to me now that those that control the float control the price.
I believe Janus has large enough position that they can control the price to a reasonable extent.

Glenn

Hi Jan Crawley; I just thought of a nefarious reason that Schwab might have yanked margin on AMZN... Since small investors get to choose between mutual funds and on-line brokerages, Schwab is at least partly in competition with Janus.

So driving down the price of a stock that Janus had clearly overbought might be a technique to convince even more investors to "manage" their own mutual funds.

And since Schwab's internet investors were already clearly in trouble, no harm in getting them out while the getting is still relatively easy.

(edit: ) Clearly I'm suffering from paranoia... Better increase the meds...
