Candlesticks or/ Bars? I'm curious to know who uses what & why...
I love candlesticks, because of the immediate gratification they give. I can tell right away what the sentiment is out there-bearish or bullish...
Candlesticks seem to be a right-brain tool for the visually-minded,
whereas Bars (used by Raschke, Cooper, in Mark Boucher's course & mentioned by Trader Alan yesterday (as in " a hammer reversal on the 13:05p bar"?!) seem very left-brained to me...more mathimatical?
I've also heard it said that once you're in a trade you should not be looking so much at the chart as at the time & sales/Prints etc...
Anyone?
TIA
Dotty

Anyone else out there have stock market nightmares? Is this OT?
Last night, after 14 hour of immersion in this stuff, I dreamt I was asleep in the back seat of a parked car in a public park, with people casually walking around...
the car started to lurch uncontrollably all of a sudden of it's own accord...
I woke up (in the dream) had to climb over the front seat, grab the wheel & try to steer the thing...
my vision was somehow blurry and the break and gas pedals seemed to be interchangeable...
(true I don't much like driving-no need to if you live in NYC) but doesn't this sound an awful lot like those times when you're in the middle of a trade & you can't figure out where it's going and whether you should hit the breaks or let it ride? The people walking around in the park are those dollars your going to lose if you steer the trade the wrong way...
Conclusion of the dream-I ended up in a clearing stopped after a very bumpy ride...whew!
I'm definitely papertrading for a while till I "get" this...
I know, I know...
I'm going swimming right now, out of this house, away from this computer...
Break time!
Hope I don't regret posting this later...
Definitely Dotty

Well OZ i did try some of my chart patterns out that i got from Barry Rudds book, and they were working when i used them on the free realtime website, but when i first received the realtick3 system i had a very hard time calling up charts and watching them while i tried to call up level2 screens and certain market indexes,in other words i shouldnt have traded. I will not trade until i can coordinate and fully be able to call up all the info that i feel i need.
I think it will take a little time to do that ,but at least im going to try to catch it early before i make any other ill prepared trades:)
Thanks Oz
