gpowell, Installing the ethernet card and loading/configuring the @Home software generally consumes 90% of the time during a typical installation. 2 technician came to my home and spend 3 hours here. 2 hour 45 minutes was spent on getting the ethernet card running and then the IRQs correct on my PC. If they can preinstall that in a DELL/Compaq PC, a team of 2 installers can be reduced to 1 installer. This single installer can then install 15 homes rather than the current 3 homes, that's 5 fold increase in productivity. Splitting a cable and put a filter in doesn't
take more than 15 minutes.

Isn't this done already if the user has cable for TV already installed, as in my case with comcast I only needed them to come out and install modem and software. I believe that most that have cable are being upgraded as we speak.
