There are regional differences in the number of installers that come to the job site. If the cable comes to your house on a pole then a tech is going to have to climb that pole to string new cable. Cox is digging up the streets of Mesa, AZ laying new cable - the docsis modems won't speed up that.

This single installer can then install 15 homes than the current 3 homes, that's 5 fold increase in productivity.

I say X*2 you say X*5 - I'll agree it will be somewhere in between.

So if it's 5 fold then by 2003 were getting into respectable numbers.

You guys are starting to confuse me. Do I have some elaborate system or something different. I recently changed location from one room to another which has a connection for my cable tv. I connected that cable to my motorola modem and I'm back online. They did (Comcast) change all of the cable in my area last year. As far as the ethernet card go's mine was installed in 15 min. had no trouble with IRQ's This should be no problem if you look at irq as a party giving information to another party. Just need to find which irq to use. Sounds as if installers were not qualified.

I installed my $10 ethernet cards and configured in 15 mins....since I haven't had cable in 14 yrs it took the 2 installers about 45 mins to run a new line to my house....I believe I saved $150. Easy money.<g> I really don't know why you guys spend so much time sweating these little details....the stock has bottomed...and will double w/i 12 mos. I will add to my position every chance I get. I have shares, 33 5/8, 33 3/4, 34, 35 1/4, 37 1/2.... As a "gunslinger" I have also traded the stock over the past month....for about 6pts. I will hold shares to 62 5/8 then re-evaluate the risk/reward at that time...no brag just fact....people waiting for 20's are missing the boat...
