I do not deny that Hollywood has a history of flashiness and frivolity, but what the article was saying . . . and what some other blurbs I have read and seen have said . . . is that the days of such lavishness are over or are dying. I cannot remember the last time Leno and Letterman made a joke concerning the topic (But then again, I don't watch them both all the time) . . . and as for Carson saying that quotation . . . how long ago was it said? Ultimately, all I am saying is that the prevailing sentiment in the industry is that that lavishness is coming to an end . . . for, these companies have to maintain a competitive bottom line just as any other, and this is becoming more and more apparent as there is more and more competition in the marketplace. Independent studios have been making significant inroads into the market (and we are betting this will continue) . . . and the major studios can't continue the same type of free-spending that has occurred in past years. And, regardless of whether the big studios can afford it . . . I certainly doubt that the small production companies, like ours, can really afford to do that. So, I am not overly concerned about the "Hollyweird" influence, but I cannot argue that it would be nice to have a very reputable accountant watching our books. On another page, I cannot say that I am overly concerned about Cataldo's educational references. Nobody who would hire him now would be too concerned with them, so why should we be? A potential suitor would look at his history in the corporate world, not his degrees or GPA. For, we all know that a Harvard grad might have disappointed in the real world while a BMCC grad may have impressed tremendously. Let's examine what he has done for the equity of the companies that he has worked with, not what he did in college. Heck, if we were to judge George W. Bush on what he did in college . . . would he even be considered for President . . . LMAO . . . he was much worse than Clinton. (If people here can lampoon "Slick Willie," I feel justified in lampooning Georgie Boy). Anyway, take my opinion for what it's worth . . . prolly nothing =) ~Luc
