I would agree. But I would take it one step further. The acquiring company would know about it also, since it's highly unlikely that they hadn't heard of their own Y2K issues.

These guys are all culpable. The brokers who want to do the deal in order to lock in their commissions, and the acquiring companies who wish to expand their market presence while they can still use their stock as currency.

I mean, look at the quantity of banking mergers we saw last year. There is NO WAY that both parties were unaware of Y2K considerations when doing their deals.
