Uncle Frank: Appreciate prompt and helpful response. Having used the link - after some fun and games due to MSFT Explorer difficulties in letting me in - I found Geoff's picture but no cv or other info on his own education and experience. Perhaps I just missed it.

Note that the only companies the Chasm group have had any dealings with in the Telecom area are Motorola and Nextel and that the group is heavily into computer related companies of all types.

Think that goes a long way toward explaining his lack of knowledge and perception re the Q.

The principles of GG are extremely valuable when applied where they are relevant IMO. But the experience from which they are derived had little or nothing to do with the Q's primary business of CDMA wireless, so his lack of understanding is in itself very understandable.

So while the GG principles certainly can be used in telecom in general and the Q in particular, that requires some research, analysis and thought - which Geoff Moore did not do, whereas Mike Buckley did.

Just wish he would have had the sense to stick to the fields he knows and not judge where he does not have the necessary base for judgement.

Last, I for one would not call Mike his disciple exactly even though I assume you mean that he is a source of wisdom and guidance on GG principles and practices.

Merlin is his own man - very much so. Who else do you know who recommends investing in a nuts and bolts company and makes a persuasive case for that?
