t2k, not sure about the effects of HWP on MSFT and INTC, or the other PC makers for that matter. I think HWP beat the Street by a nickle, yet HWP had strong non-pc sales for items such as printers, so it wasn't PC only sales that helped them surpass expectations.

I think INTC has some definite room to run, I'm just not about to put money there yet. I'd rather have my money in MSFT, but this really boils down to a time-horizon issue. Long term, I think MSFT is a better investment. But in the near to mid term, INTC may very well outperform MSFT. This is just not an issue for me as my time horizon is far, far out.

The HWP effect on DELL, CPQ and the other PC makers is up in the air as far as I'm concerned. I think these issues will be driven more by the CPI than HWP's numbers. It's just too hard to tell whether HWP's strong performance is due to overall strong performance by the PC sector, or if it's more HWP stealing away their competitor's business.

IMHO, of course.
