To all: . . . Nice post, Jan. Not nearly as IRRITATING as all of your others. Thanks for adhering to the spirit of this thread. I don't threaten with guns. . . unless you are a duck or a turkey. <g> But in accordance with SI terms of use, disruptors will be kicked. May I suggest you read several hundred posts on the HOME thread to get a feel for the spirit and level of quality contributions that we have here. There are literally thousands of investors that read this thread every single day. It is my job to make sure that posts are relevant, on-topic and are based on publicly known facts. This is simply a protective measure to keep those that wish to influence others, do so in a manner acceptable by all. My problem with you has little to do with WHAT you say, but rather that you ignored requests to tone it down. You are welcome to your OPINION that some day A.T. and T. will give up their competitive advantage over AOL by "inking a deal" between ATHM and AOL, despite the FACT that the CEO of both T and ATHM has addressed the issue directly, in the past two-weeks and DENIED any such possibility. This thread is purposely classified under "Short-Term Traders." We trade in and out. You are welcome to your OPINION that internet stocks should be held long and not traded. But we made 5 baggers, 10 baggers and more on internet stocks by TRADING them. . .not holding long. . . . buying them last fall and selling them in February. . .reloading on March 23 and selling on April 15, then buying again in June and selling out completely on July 15. Since then we have watched and waited for internets to drop down to ridiculous levels. . . and we are choosey on WHICH ones to jump back into. . . if you have followed this thread long, you will know that broadband internets are outpacing the OLD internets by a significant amount. We choose NOT to buy up any old internet, but rather we are careful to buy the BEST this time around. So we are hardly ignoring internet stocks on this thread. Look at the portfolios we assembled and you will see how heavily weighted in internets they are. But from a technical standpoint, the trading volume yesterday was the lowest all year. That is a MAJOR red flag. And 500+ new all time lows were hit yesterday. And breadth is still poor. NOBODY will disagree with me on this next statement. . . not bears not bulls. . . No volume = no rally. It is not good from a technical standpoint, that the Naz goes up 200 points and the Dow nearly 400 points on very very low volume. And everyone should be concerned about this. Now we on the HOME thread anticipated this, and are not taking full positions until closer to the end of August. . .when volume starts back in and the major players return from vacations after Labor Day. So you see, Jan. . . we have a plan, agreed to by some mighty fine investors with hundreds of years of trading experience between them. . . and we like to stick to our plan. So don't think you will find a sympathetic ear, when coming here to say "RAH RAH RAH!!!! BUY INTERNETS OR LOSE!!!" Look at the history of our trading here and the accuracy of predictions. You won't find another group of traders with a better record. Further responses to Jan's posts, with regard to the hype, should be done in private. . as it is further disruption. Responses to Jan's opinions are welcome publicly. Now, Jan. . .if you don't mind there are others here that are patiently waiting for my time and responses. . .and I have a limited amount of time, while building our new home. No need to respond to this. Our discussion of the issues you have raised is over. Thanks, Rande Is
