Yes the DJIA is just 30 issues. However as marc wrote, many of the issues are cyclicals that typically do better in the final stages of a bull market. Furthermore, many of the DJIA 30 tend also to be considered as "safe" stocks--other issues get sold before the "safe" stocks.

Historically, the kind of divergence marc described marks (no pun intended) the market top. This may not be the top--perhaps we've got several more weeks or a renewed leg upward--but one cannot argue with the fact that divergence has historically marked the topping process.
