Online brokerage services on rise - Infratest biz.yahoo.com BERLIN, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Online brokerage services are cranking up the competition in the European and U.S. financial services markets, German market research firm and consultancy Infratest Burke said on Thursday. Infratest said that more than five million Americans and one million Germans who use the Internet also use online brokerages, a figure expected to rise to four million in Germany in the mid-term. ``The boom in online brokerages and, in no small part, the penetration of foreign service providers and companies outside the traditional financial services market will significantly step up the competition in this market,' Infratest said in a statement. The firm has developed an online brokerage monitor to determine the number of clients using the Internet to receive financial services, what they expect and how satisfied they are with the service.
