No discussion today on the WSJ article where Frank Veneroso (Bill Murphy's old boss) states that he doesn't believe the gold carry trade positions out there are not large enough to present systemic risk? Also Gold Fields suggested that the total carry position in Gold is only 400 metric tonnes. Finally, there was a comment that suggested that small speculators are opting to stay away from shorting gold for now leaving the market to the funds and trade houses. Pg. C19 WSJ.
