I remember here in California someone was running for I think it was Governor and he was saying how we have a problem with illegal alliens and all this stuff, and then they find out he has employed one for years and his kids and wife really are attached to her... she was one of the family. Open mouth, lift foot, put foot in...

That wasn't Wilson was it? He was the anti-immigration guy.

<< The hypocrisy is especially close to the political surface after the Clinton fiasco left a nice media opening for Larry Flynt to expose all the hypocrites who were criticizing him on moral grounds.>>

Clinton was not criticized on moral grounds, he was criticized and then impeached for LYING UNDER OATH TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!!!

Again, I can agree with most you have to say. The problem with drug dealers and repeat offenders of possession, what do you do with them from a governmental standpoint? Some of them do make corrections in their lives in prison and are released and become decent citizens. Unfortunately, they are too far and few between.

Bush did not say one thing and do another. Before he became governor and had to make the hard decisions,he had long since abandoned drugs and alcohol. I don't know what steps he could have taken to "help" these people. There are no charitable rehab centers so ,who's going to pay? I agree that it is a thorny problem but don't believe that you can cry hypocracy in this instance....TD
