<<Do you (or anyone on the thread) see anything that could impact the stock price favorably in before Q3 earning?
Here is my list:

- Dell or Gateway or HP announcement (IMHO, worth probably 5, 2, 1 points respectively)
- Analyst upgrades (without additional OEM announcements this one is tough to call)
- Athlon Ultra introduction (October?)
- Earnings pre-release (mid-to-late september, if at all)>>

Chuck, here are mine:

- Appointments of President, COO and CTO. These duties are mostly like splited between at least two individuals. If AMD can get an outsider possessing stature such as EP for president and COO, the news would be worth a couple of points. But, realistically, given Jerry?s own interest, I expect the new appointments home grown - I see Rob Herb as Pres and COO, how about Dirk Meyer as CTO? The home grown management may pass the street as a non-event though.

- IBM or MSFT equity investment in AMD. The two biggest beneficiaries of AMD?s exisitence may chose to invest in AMD when an equity infusion is most urgently needed at this point of time ever since the intro of K6.

Personally I think the other items on your list will help firm the stock's price and help it move up a little but I think its a pre- earnings announcement or the actual quarter 3 report whichever comes first that will make the stock move significantly. I don't think AMD has much creditability and the big issue in everyone's mind is "show me the $". But once AMD has proven that it can perform, it will move like a rocket IMO.

Chuck,

I am looking for the stock to slowly move up on new speed grades introductions and a general feeling that there are more and more Athlon systems available for sale.

That's easy: Jerry forced out by BOD!

Charles Re <<Do you (or anyone on the thread) see anything that could impact the stock price favorably in before Q3 earning?>>

Your list is good, here is a few more,

1. Equity investment by IBM
2. Fab partner for Dresden, most likely Motorola
3. Announcement of K6III 500 and 550, K6 mobile 450
4. Announcement of K7 700
5. Expansion of product offering by Compaq and IBM
6. Adoption by smaller OEM's (tier 2?) like Quantex and Micron

All and all they have got to keep selling K7's at ASP above $350 or so. I guess we should start a competition for the next earning announcement.
