I did so much enjoy your story about the grasshoppers. Reminds me of the sci-fi film The Beginning of the End with Peter Graves battling giant grasshoppers in downtown Chicago. Like X-The Unknown radiation was the culprit there too. Of course Them!, about giant ants, was much better.

You are radioactive today, giving off much heat. I suggest a soothing rubdown with Icy-Hot...

My maternal great-grandfather, Napoleon, started out dirt poor and worked his way up to become a millionaire in the 1920s and had a 40 room house with a ballroom built. In the 1960s it was turned into a school. For awhile he had a 12 car steam-heated garage. The chauffeur lived in rooms above the garage.

We have had both ants and grasshoppers in our family. I always preferred the ants. Grasshoppers can become ants if they are smart, persistent, have an indefatigable attitude and a modicum of ambition.
