Dcf,

"It IS interesting to note MICHELLE that your ANN RICHARDS ADMITTED TO ALCOHOLISM and WOULD NOT ANSWER DRUG QUESTIONS during her campaign to become governor."

What did GWB answer when he was asked the drug question during the Texas governor's race?. Now that Richards has entered the race for President, I agree with you; she needs to answer the cocaine question.

Boy are you dumb.

First of all, she is not "my" Ann Richards. I just feel compelled to comment when the far right extremists here make ridiculous statements like "the Richards debaucle" etc. when it was a very close race and without the Bush name I doubt she could have been beaten.

Secondly, as I have said here repeatedly, personal matters such as this should be irrelevant. They were irrelevant when she was running against Bush certainly, I don't think anybody answered questions like that at the time. But last year changed all that, for the republicans primarily, because they chose to present themselves as people on a "higher moral plane" and propose things like the 10 commandments as legislation. Therefore, you would assume a squeaky clean candidate would you not?

I don't know what the drug war is like in Texas but I do know some of the schools have a "zero tolerance" policy which has been on the news when they suspend a kid for bringing cough syrup to school and stuff like that. If anybody knows any more about this zero tolerance stuff in Texas please post, what I saw of it seemed extreme and if that was proposed by Bush, well.....

Ann Richard's similarity to Bush: Thanks for pointing that out. Now you know why Bush's drug use wasn't an issue earlier - cause his opponent had the same skeleton in the closet.

. . . ANN RICHARDS ADMITTED TO ALCOHOLISM and WOULD NOT ANSWER DRUG
QUESTIONS during her campaign . . .

Sure sounds familiar, huh.
