Michael,
Seems that I have heard (or as a matter of fact...written!:-) these words before on SD, ...from your FLC URL:

Potential fallout from the Y2K computer bug could also cut into oil flows at the turn of the year, analysts add -- a fear that will increase buying pressure in the autumn and winter as consumers hoard precautionary supplies of heating oil.

This fits in with a larger theory that I have, but have not and will not write, as it is admittedly wild speculation. But here is the 2 + 2 for anyone to add up as they wish....

First 2:
Remember last winter when western oil companies were invited back to Saudi Arabia and some other OPEC countries for some business talks and some business bids? I never heard what came out of those meetings.

Second 2:
Despite the upsurge in oil prices, US oil companies seem very slow to speed up the drill bits. The Consensus says that this is because they fear oil prices will not remain high....

2 + 2 = ???
