mike..re: free market east germany was absorbed into a prosperous free market society, west germany, but yet it has put a drag on the existing economy.......transition was easy as no real cultural differences, same country, same people...not a good example....what prosperity in eastern bloc/russia other then east germany.....why so many loan defaults??? china no different, just a larger scale, less flexible with minimum infrastructure....need western investment at the moment.... china rolls tanks in the streets as a show of force, avoiding political instability through power, not freedom... labor bordering on slavery...the ability to nationalize any business on a whim.... so you believe it is without political risk? approve of saber rattling toward a free country as taiwan?......ideology never changes...western enterprises used by communist countries, but never long term for mutual benefit...look at history....
