Hey Gary, I just took a first 1/3 position in NITE at 30 3/4. I agree that the long term picture here looks very good.

I'm also considering a position in either NDB or SWS. Both of these companies have both an online discount brokerage operation, as well as Nasdaq MM operation. Sherwood Securites (SHWD) is wholly owned by NDB, and Southwest Securities (SWST) is wholly owned by SWS. SWS also owns mydiscountbroker.com. In addition, SWS holds a large stake in NITE, at pre-IPO pricing, meaning essentially a cost basis of zero.

On a valuation basis, either of these stocks looks very appealing, IMO. Also, with the coming consolidation in the online brokerage industry, these guys could be at the top of the list of the big guys like EGRP, AMTD, Datek, etc.

What do you think?

Gary, you said
2. Has the company maintained or grown market share so far this quarter? I would guess that, at best, market share has been maintained (and not grown). Time will tell on this one, but I don't think we can look at market share growth as an engine for overcoming seasonally slow trading volumes.

I just learned that NITE has added over 50 new stocks that they make an issue in for the Qtr. Volume is not significant but they are still expanding their trading universe. Also NITE has stepped their trading in DELL.As to how the company is performing overall. We will have to wait.

Gary,

I was hoping pull towards 30 for expiration but does not seem that way. Any way I will have 7k, 2k @45, 5k at 35. Thanks to the naked puts. I hate to sell call, even covered because of the volatlity.
