I just got back from the ebay site, wow!!!! I didn't see anything I could not live without, but I only looked at about half a dozen. The prices are unbelievable, better than for machine made. I like tribal rugs, too, better than the Isfahans and Tabrizes I saw on ebay, so far, which were kinda sickeningly kitschy. I'll take a look at Gabbehs.

Similar mark-ups in the precious stone industry, you know, but much easier to get cheated. If you get screwed on a rug, it's still a rug. Um, make that cheated.

Re. rugs -- I see no indication of knots per inch in the link provided. Is this information commonly lacking in e-Bay rug sales? I'm nuts about great rugs and think them a very sensible extravagance.

Somewhat surprised to see enthusiasm of some here in view of reported child labor abuses in creation of many of these wonderful carpets.
