Visiting Pricewatch.com I found some interesting things. One site BZBOYZ.com is only offering the AMD ATHLON at 550, 600, and 650MHz. No ATHLON 500 cheapo MHz parts featured on their website. This does argue for the possibility of the higher speed bin distribution that I referred to in an earlier post. They are also promising the Microstar MoBO for early September. A number of vendors are promising MoBo's from FIC, Microstar, and Gigabyte starting 8/23 thru 9/15. One way or another, sooner (I HOPE!) or later the MoBo's are coming. I complained to a salesman at one of the vendors about the strange situation of plentiful Athlons and no MoBo's and he reinforced the rumor that it was the 800 pOUND gORRILLA behind it. That rumor is very strong. Such does not make it so, it is very hard to prove, if true; but, a lot of people seem to believe it.

Regards,

DARBES
