Jean, not only I don't mind, I actually applaud your effort to bring awareness to the need to assist the less fortunate on this Earth.

Your message is especially timely since I just came in from a party, in which many of us were trying out the AOL High Maintenance Quiz. My best friend socred an astounding 119 out of 120 possible pts while I had 117 pts. When we find ourselves surrounded by luxury and abundance, sometimes losing sight of the afflictions in the world, your message arrives in time as a good reminder.

thanks jean -

its rather odd when one thinks of the lack of hesitation that goes into a commission or a night out -

and yet when it comes to giving - we often shy away from making that same degree of effort

not all, but many of us sit here w/our physical needs met - we go to bed not knowing hunger - and we wake experiencing warmth - perhaps not in an emotional sense but in a physical sense

for me personally - when i take inventory - i am reminded of how much i have to share - and how little i give ~

thanks for the reminder

Jean, you have always sounded to me , here on this thread
as a more than caring person. Went to the website, and tried to make a donation of $3K, but couldn't get the secure site to load...

anyways, let me know again, when it is up and accesable , and will gladly donate the sameamount to the Red Cross!

They are one of the oldest and most marvelous instituions on the planet (sans Wimbleton) there is! I'm talking about the RED+ CROSS people...

My Mother spent the last productive 12yrs of her life, running a bookstore for them, in my home town...she made herself proud, and me proud of her...i had become too proud with this life.... and when my mother died, i shed very few tears...she showed me a very valuable use of our time, her on good 'ol planet earth.

she had finally done "good" work, after her own heart, in her own fashion, to help others... i wouldn't have known about the fantastic work that they do.... but mothers can surprise you sometimes , can't they?

Oh by the way .... this is not a solicitation to buy the Red Cross stock, entity, or issue, at all..... a$
