Rate Hike:

One thing I find interesting is that last fall the media and the market expected the FED to lower interest rates another time after the second one. They stated that the FED rarely lowers rates only twice, so they expected a third. Now, they are just expecting a second increase, but not a third. Does the FED have a history of raising only twice? The markets might have another rate increase factored in, which I doubt, but they definately don't have another two.

BWDIK,

Eric

I fully concur with your outlook from the fundamental point of view. As I said, I see no reason for the market to climb here but the charts are hinting that we could melt upwards. Note I am only saying "could".

I honestly have no idea where we are heading so I am staying cash until I see what happens. If the indexes make it over my lines and hold that territory for a few days, then I think we are going to head up fairly strong.

If that happens, then life will get interesting again as the indexes approach the tops of my next set and that may be when the market finally starts paying attention to the problems in the world.

One thing I have noticed about this thread that I truely love. We are always waaaay ahead of the game. We are talking about problems, indicators, chart patterns etc weeks and sometimes months before the rest of the market finally wakes up and smells the coffee. This may be another one of those times. We could melt up and then the market could suddenly realize that all is not wonderful in the land of Oz and come crashing back down. Note a 3 week rally would not be that far out of the norm for a retest of the recent lows.

PS - Did anyone else notice that Disney kind of snuck up 20% in the last 2 weeks without anyone saying anything? I never watch it but as I was going through some of my charts today, I stumbled on it and was shocked. What gives???? I thought they were losing market share, growth had stopped and only the theme parks were making money.

Also noted that Delmonte is approaching their 1997 low here soon. I guess that not only farmers are getting killed trying to feed the world but the end producers are having a rough time of it also.

I found a few more warning signs out there on many stocks but one of the most obvious is BAC. Thier recent bounce was on obvious blatent lower and lower volume. This market looks sick as I said on stocks but the main iondexes are being propped somehow and are looking like they could break either way so no call by me here. I will sit on the sidelines and let someone else put their toes in the water to see if there are piranha out there. <ggg>

Good Luck,

Lee
