OT TA, still droning on to those that will listen I see. " Are we going to hear soon that LU, " ditched their Ascend /Cascade Comm ATM switch, after the MCI/WCOM debacle?"

Why dump a best of breed product for an overpriced, underfeatured box that takes twice the space? Btw, you mentioned a while back that you were impressed by the "size" of NN's switch. Do you realize that space is not a commodity with the carriers?

Have a nice day,

Brian

Tunica, thank you for your well referenced reply. I am reading through it as well as the Sunday supplement to the NY Times that Pat just sent me.

Thanks,
Michael

Tunica/Michael,

If you read a little closer you wil see that the CSCO 8850
is brand new and positioned as a Carrier class ATM switch.

I have no interest in either company winning or losing its just that i am beginning an implementation of the 8850 shortly and like technology.

Good luck to you..Mark
