Bravo for choosing Immaculate Mary. I admire the fact that you were able to pinch hit and bring it off on a moment's notice.

I attended a funeral Mass recently at a Novus Ordo church. I won't bore you with the long list of things I found bothersome, but one startling thing was the crucifix had been moved to the right of the altar. (Or gathering space or whatever Novus Ordo is calling the altar area) Centered over Cranmer's table, I mean altar, in place of the crucifix was a modernist artwork depiction of a tree. At the top of the trunk where the branches began was a curious knot pattern. I know these intricate knot motifs have a pagan relevance, and this design was clearly meant to be the focal point of the artwork. I wonder if we're all becoming Druids now...
