OT: In the movie industry people pay before they see the movie and if they don't like it they don't get their money back.

Blair Witch is making millions because of its false advertising.

People are going to see Blair Witch because it is advertised as a documentary and the actual films of the event. If while watching Blair Witch you think it really happened then it is entertaining. If you don't believe or your friends told you that it was all made up to look like a documentary then it's not worth watching.

I was impressed by the marketing approach. However, I am surprised some attorney isn't trying to start a class action lawsuit for false advertising.

I have seen some misleading advertisements before, but Blair Witch will go down as a case study for movie marketing. It may even be mentioned in the same sentences as that radio show (before I was born) that claimed Earth was being attached by Martians. Okay... maybe not.

I guessed that it was not a real story because the camera shots were too convenient. I watched the whole movie to see how far they would take it and how well they could make the ending.

If it were a true story, the ending would have been quite decent.
