Forrester Research: "G* will prosper"

New report from Forrester, in light of I* collapse predicts:
-G* will prosper, leading a small niche market
-I* will not survive, will be forced to sell assets, maybe AT&T or NTT Docomo (?)
-ICO will quit operations within 2 months

Basically, they said that the industry isn't what it was thought to be years ago, but lower prices and
targeted marketing will allow satellite companies to survive.

Globalstar FAQ - from Airtouch website

I had to dig to find it, but it's there:

(1) Go to: app.airtouch.com
(2) From the "Topic" pulldown menu, select "Airtouch Satellite Services - Globalstar" (the second entry).

... here's a paragraph about estimated costs:

How much will it cost?

We expect that on average the service will cost about
US$1.50-$2.00 per minute (retail) in the United States
& Canada with calls to Mexico in the $2.00 range.
Prices will depend on the services bundled in the
pricing packages & long distance tail charges. The
handsets should retail for around US$1,250 and a fixed
phone will cost between U.S. $2000 and $5000 (retail),
depending on how much equipment is required. For example,
a payphone booth with solar panel energy source will be
on the high end, while several desktop phones sharing
an antenna will be on the low end on a per phone basis.
In most cases, AirTouch will provide wholesale service
to local distributors who will set retail prices appropriately.
