...good point...I still like this play...but there are tons of spec/day traders that don't know how to handle the volatility...

Greg, You are correct.

My bar-room buddy in Bakersfield has informed me that they have seen approximately 100' of gas pay in the first sand, with 75' of it indicating greater than 15% porosity - huge for this depth in a clastic (sand) reservoir.

They have apparently logged extensive vertical fracturing throughout the logged interval, which includes the first sand and the first shale, down to the very top of the second sand. There wasn't enough of the second sand exposed to catch it with the logging tools.
You are most likely right in that the total payzone will include at least the first and second sands together. They were expecting 200' of net pay in the estimated 400' of second sand.

It is very likely that the first 4 Temblor sands will be in communication if this is the case, so in my opinion, this adds credence to Hilton's idea that the water was from 2000' below.
I honestly think that we have a huge gas reservoir here.

There was NO SIGN OF WATER AT ALL.

Have a great day.

PS: It was frustrating being offline for 3 days. I moved house and Shaw Cable screwed up my hookup appointment in the new place. They were supposed to do it on Saturday, but it was done last night.
