On the surface, it appears to be a DSL splitter. How much hey they can make out of it ? is out of my scope of clairvoyance.

Geeee-- This AMD Patent description looks a lot like and
smells a lot like, and works a lot like the Siecor "Indoor
Wall Mount POTS Splitter for BellSouth" which is used for
the BellSouth Fastaccess ADSL service. The data part
goes to an Alcatel 1000 ADSL modem.

Did'nt know AMD had the patent
