Violent protest against S.Africa strike

<< The South African Press Association news agency quoted union officials as saying some 570,000 of the 1.1 million public sector workers responded to the strike call. That is almost double the 300,000 workers who staged a two-day strike at the end of July.

Union leaders had said they hoped 800,000 members would stop work on Tuesday. >>

Alex, have you ever run across an article pondering the likely new production of metals from mines coming on-line in comparison to mine playing out or closing, not forgetting rising demand as a factor.

In other words, is there any possibility that new mines can bridge the current deficit gap in the next few years? Thanks, --Al
