techweb.com In an InformationWeek Research survey of 300 IT managers conducted last month, almost half the respondents said their organizations had become more aggressive in the last 18 months toward adopting and deploying leading-edge information technologies, such as customer-relationship management and supply-chain software, electronic-commerce and enterprise portal systems, Java applications, knowledge management, and storage area networks......... But Ferderer of CUNA Mutual is less optimistic about the fate of companies that don't become more aggressive toward adopting cutting-edge IT. "I don't think they'll be competitive," he says. "I don't think they'll be able to serve their customers in a competitive manner or work with their suppliers in an efficient manner. I don't think they'll survive."
