Sites like Yahoo and Amazon with far more resources and marketing budgets have tried and failed against Ebay. What makes you think Gold will fare any better? Ebay has reached critical mass in terms of buyers and sellers. It will be extremely difficult to remove them from the top spot.

Uh Oh!!!!! Guess what! Ebay's system is bombing again. There is only the "shell" present. If you try to view an auction it gives the now familiar "can not open the selected internet site" error. This has been followed in the past by prolonged outages of the database kind.

When will they own up to the real nature of these problems?

Hey, I am not a fortune teller, but I can tell you from numerous past experiences, this is EXACTLY what their system does before it crashes completely, and they end up taking it off-line altogether.

We shall see....breaks MY heart!

that gold site sucks, plain and simple. from a user interface pov it's a blatent ebay ripoff and they have undoubtedly already heard from ebay's intellectual property attorneys. you must have some sort of financial interest in that organization to be such a cheerleader. i'm not going to argue with you about ebay's competitive advantage over all and i mean all it's competitors. ebay has been and remains the #1 online auction site, this will not change for the short to midterm. long term, well i have no clue and neither do you. that is all...
